Seawell- Musician/Talent Seeker![]() ![]() Update - Ulyssia has started her empire with a couple of new talents on her roster and you can check out her new site Thorough Communication http://www.thoroughcommunications.com |
It wasn't so much that Ulyssia contacted us for the tell all about her dreams and passion but was through a mutual friend who we had worked with on many projects and he told us about this young lady from Greensboro, NC that wanted to be a model and you know us... Anytime the word model is used we are quick - fast and in a hurry to pick up the cam and shoot and that's exactly what happened and as we got to talking with Ulyssia we found out that she had other ambitions other than to be another model with plans of making it big off her looks. Ulyssia Seawell, was born in Raleigh, North Carolina on December 13, 1979. And began her spotlight early in life in local church baby pageants, winning first place awards. She moved on to the Shirley Badget School of Dance at the age of four experiencing ballet, jazz, and tap dancing, and winning every year at the dance recitals. At the age of seven she began to take piano lessons under the instruction of Jean Bethel. After learning the basic skills, Ulyssia continued her piano training with Sadie Battle where she obtained years of classical, R&B, and gospel training. During this time Lysa (as she likes to be called) played for a small choir at her local church and also performed in recitals for Sadie Battle for seven years. Her zest for working in the entertainment industry started early. As a young child Lysa tried to start many music groups and even tried to start her own teen magazine and soon after deciding to write and produce her own music and started searching for talent in her hometown. Lysa is currently managing the rap group Caution and her goal is to work with them on developing skills to be able to be marketable in the business and have also assisted in the development of a young singer, Chastney as well as recording some of her own songs by obtaining hands on training in studio engineering under the direction of Alvin Taylor at T-Biskit Studios in Raleigh, where she served as assistant studio engineer and have also done production with Knockaz Entertainment of Raleigh and other producers and artist in the Raleigh and Greensboro area. Despite her small stature, Lysa is now venturing into the modeling world and can be seen on various web sites and is also at Blue Moss Model Her portfolio includes music she's done while in training for music production as well as photos from modeling. Aside from the courses she is taking for her B.A. degree in journalism and mass communications with a concentration in broadcast productions, Lysa is also exploring other areas that will help her in her other career goals... One of these areas, electronic music classes keeps her up to date with musical studio equipment and she eventually want to take courses in acting and dance. The industry is so hard to get into and it is important for me to start my search well in advance to my graduation, said Lysa over a cup of tea. My search includes reading magazine and newspaper ads and I am also researching companies through the internet as well as trying to personally contact the companies. While researching I am learning the positions that are open, and the skills I have to have to get into the position. While working I will begin to develop my goals, which includes starting my own communications company. The ultimate goal of my company will be to fill the needs of many areas in the entertainment industry. The company will serve as a talent agency focusing on the development of new and upcoming artist, models, and actors. The clients will then be marketed to the industry. Besides the talent area, I plan to include a production department. In the production department I will be able to incorporate both musical and video sides of production. On the musical side I want to build a studio where music for records, commercials, and films will be recorded. I will also have a studio where video production will take place. In this studio, I will shoot music videos, short films and commercials. This is still not the end. I want to also own arcades, clubs, restaurants, and a clothing company. My plans in starting this whole operation will start with the music studio. I will take the money that I profit from renting studio time and the artist to start my other ventures. I am considering starting up an independent recording label once all of this is in place. North Carolina is a growing state and is ready for change; especially in the entertainment field. It's just waiting to be developed. |
