<>No i'm not talking
about me or one of the models on this site. I am
referring to my '97 Chevy Camaro and when he's clean he's mean. I drive
up to a traffic light and there is always someone in the next lane
looking for a race and over time I have became a speed demon that hunts
down and pass anybody in my way and today wasn't different. I was
heading towards Goldsboro one afternoon for a model test shoot with
Zendre Struthers and I was running late.... As I approached the
Smithfield/Goldsboro split on highway 70 I spotted a State Trooper
about a quarter mile down the road and while traffic was heavy it was
going at a brisk pace but as I got closer towards the trooper I saw
that other drivers was "paying respect" to the trooper by falling in
behind him so that they didn't have the urge to pass him which is what
I had on my mind... As I weaved my way though the maze of traffic I saw
that I was now about three cars behind the trooper and is also when I
spotted a beautiful yellow corvette traveling behind the troopers
cruiser and I felt that urge to toy with him or to atleast catch up
to him. My car was looking good, I was in a good mood and I had a sexy
model to shoot but I had that trooper dictating the speed and a
yellow corvette blocking me out and as I looked down at my gage I saw
that I was doing around 68 mph which meant that the trooper was driving
faster... As I made my move on the corvette and passed it I was now
coming up on the troopers passenger side and this is when I decided
that I was going to pass him and I did. With
BLUE LIGHTS on he stepped out of the car and upon getting my licenses
and registration he asked if I knew how fast I was going and I said
yes. "why did you pass me Mr. Whittaker"? Well sir I said with a
nervous smile, I saw you were doing 70 mph and although the speed limit
is 55 mph I felt that if you didn't care about speeding why should I.
"Where do you work and where are you headed? he asked as he glanced
inside my car and noticed the camera and lighting equipment in the back
seat. I am a photographer and I am headed to a photo shoot in
Goldsboro, when was the last time you received a speeding ticket he
asked? I got a
ticket about two months ago sir and flashed
back to about two months earlier when I was driving down Raleigh Blvd
and this motorcycle cop was sitting in the cut with his radar gun and
clocked me at 55 in a 35 but wrote me a ticket for speeding 44 in a 35
which was good because if he was a real A-Hole he could have taken my
licensee and stuff 'cause I was doing 20 over the limit. So you're a
real speed demon, huh Mister Whittaker? Ohh no sir I said, I was just
late and was trying to make up some time. Do you know I
could take your license right now and the DMV would suspend your
license and you would have to lug all this camera equipment
around on
your back? Would you like that Mister whittaker?
No sir
I replied. Slow
it down Mister Whittaker. As the trooper walked back towards his car I
drove off wondering how in the hell did I get out of that bad
situation... Was it because I looked so scared that the trooper felt
sorry for me? No... The NC Highway Patrol had a reputation as
straightforward cops that didn't care about any excuse, if they pulled
you over you were going to get a ticket. So why didn't I get a ticket?
Was it because I was "driving while black" and the trooper didn't want
to be thought of as a racist? I don't know why he let me go that day
without writing me a ticket but I did remember those parting words of
wisdom that the trooper had spoke about slowing it down and I got to
the models apartment with more than enough time and took some nice
photos of her. As I traveled back to Raleigh later that night I sped
pass a Clayton cop that was sitting down in the cut with his radar. I
was doing 65 in a 45... "slow
it down Mister Whittaker slow it down"
